The Reader Configuration on the Mobile Credentialing page allows you to configure the reader's output mode, installer PIN, and the credential technologies accepted by the reader.
Output Mode
The Output Mode setting determines how credential data is transmitted from the reader to the access control panel after a valid credential has been presented.
OSDP - Uses the Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) for secure, bidirectional communication between the reader and the access control panel. When a valid credential from an enabled credential type is presented, the credential data is transmitted to the panel over the OSDP interface.
Wiegand/Clock - Uses a traditional signaling interface to transmit credential data to the access control panel. When a valid credential from an enabled credential type is presented, the credential data is transmitted using the configured Wiegand or Clock & Data format.
The selected output mode affects only the method used to communicate credential data to the host system. Credential acceptance is controlled by the enabled credential types (Proximity, Standard BlueDiamond, BlueDiamond BLE, and BlueDiamond NFC) and is not affected by the selected output mode.
Installer PIN
The installer PIN is an optional security feature and is not required for standard BlueDiamond operation. To reduce the risk of accidental or unauthorized configuration changes on keypad readers, it is strongly recommended that the default installer PIN be changed following installation. For additional assistance, contact Technical Support.
Credentials Allowed
The following credential types can be enabled independently:
Proximity - Supports compatible proximity credentials.
Standard BlueDiamond - Supports BlueDiamond DESFire credentials.
BlueDiamond BLE - Supports BlueDiamond mobile credentials using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
BlueDiamond NFC - Supports BlueDiamond mobile credentials using Near Field Communication (NFC).
When a credential type is enabled, the reader accepts and processes credentials of that type. When a credential type is disabled, credentials of that type are ignored and no credential data is reported.
Multiple credential types can be enabled simultaneously.
